Vaxxed II Premiers in Select Theaters – Terrible Timing as Several Stages Battle Measles Outbreak

Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe was released in 2016 to much chagrin and alarm in the scientific community. The so-called documentary film was co-written by Andrew Wakefield, the disgraced British ex-doctor (his license was revoked). Wakefield was ground zero for the anti-vaccination movement with his now retracted Lancet article that suggested the link between autism and vaccines. The scientific community has resoundingly refuted any connection whatsoever between vaccinations and autism. Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Film Festival pulled the film from its line up after criticism from all quarters. Unfortunately, that had the perverse effect of the film getting all kinds of attention from the global press.

So I submit this blog entry with some trepidation. Going against my instinct, I am writing to rail against Vaxxed II – The People’s Truth in theaters now. It is concerning that Wakefield et al have potentially put millions of kids at risk for horrible diseases that are easily preventable. Robert F Kennedy Jr is credited as an executive producer of Vaxxed II. Kennedy is nephew of THE John F. Kennedy, our 35th president. Kennedy speaks for those he believes to be “vaccine-injured” and unfortunately now has some help from Robert De Niro. The two appeared together at a forum in 2017 and made an offer of $100,00 if someone could prove that vaccines did NOT have a long-term health impact. One could argue that the millions of children who are healthy and immune to many diseases because of vaccines should be compelling evidence. If the previews on YouTube are any indication, this time around the producers had more money to play with. The theaters showing the film are not being publicly announced and many streaming services have decided to not show this film. Unfortunately, I am sure Vaxxed II will find a sizeable audience. I am hoping not too many of them will be swayed by its incorrect and potentially harmful message.
